10th October update 3 - interruption to gas supply
We are pleased to let you know that we are starting the restoration of gas supply. We will be turning on our plant on Wednesday and monitoring its performance for 24 hours. Should this go as planned we will begin the reinstatement of supply from Thursday. As we have said this is a staged process so customers will be informed when it’s safe to turn on their gas. There are a number of customers who require a visit from an engineer, these will start on Thursday.
Please do not turn on your gas until you have been told by us that it is safe to do so. We have clear instructions of how to restore the gas to your home and we will be communicating with you via:
- A letter directly to your home
- Social media (Facebook and X formerly twitter)
- Our website
- Local media
We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and thank all our customers for their support whilst we have been managing this issue. If you wish to get in touch with us then please call on, 01534 755500
Our guidance to customers remains the same until you are told to turn on your gas:
- Make sure all gas appliances are switched off (boiler, cooker, fire etc)
- Turn off the gas supply to your home at the meter. The emergency control valve is located next to your meter. Detailed instructions and a video for this are here.
- It’s important you let us know that you have done this. If you’ve helped a neighbour or relative to turn off their supply also let us know. Please complete this form or call us on 01534 755500.
