13th October update 4 - restoration of gas supply

We are pleased to say that customers in St Brelade and St Peter can turn on their ECV (emergency control valve) and restore gas supply into their property

IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW TO DO THIS. If you haven’t already received a letter with the instructions, they are on our website https://islandenergy.je/self-gas-restoration

St Brelade and St Peter: you can now turn on your gas supply at the Emergency Control Valve (ECV)

We’ve restored gas supply in your area. You can start using the gas again in your property. If you have not already received instructions on how to do this, they are on our website https://islandenergy.je/self-gas-restoration

If you do not want to turn the gas on yourself there is a form on our website, and we will get an engineer to visit you.  https://islandenergy.je/engineer-gas-restore-form

Please note

Because the gas supply has been turned off, you may experience a delay upon turning it back on. This is normal. Please leave ten minutes for the gas to restore before turning on your appliances.

If after ten minutes you can still smell gas, turn the emergency control valve off again, go outside of your property and call our gas escape number immediately: 01534 755555. Do not try to turn any appliances back on.

If you try to turn on your emergency control valve (ECV) before we've restored gas to your area there is no safety risk, you simply won’t have gas supply.
