Standing Charge Increase - Guernsey & Jersey

Customer Update

We’re implementing an increase to the standing charge for all domestic and business customers from 14 May 2024.

The standing charge will increase from 14 May 2024.  This will be shown on your back page of your next bill and will be published on our website from 14 May.

Jersey: £1.19 per month (inc GST)

Guernsey: £1.13 per month

The last standing charge increase was in 2020.  The standing charge is a fixed daily amount all customers pay for the supply of gas to their homes or businesses to cover the cost of being connected to the energy network and contributes to the cost of installing and maintaining a gas network that complies with the highest safety ratings based on international standards.  We try to keep our customers tariffs and costs as low as we can for as long as we can, but we do need to review our charges and costs on a regular basis.

For an average household this is approximately:

Guernsey: £1.13 pence per month*

Jersey: £1.19 pence per month (inc GST)*

*Figures based on Super Economy 24 Tariff. Customers on Standard 24 Tariff are not affected

No, this will automatically apply to your bill. The standing charge is shown on the back of your bill.
